I first conceived of this piece mulling over thoughts, just on the edge of consciousness, of the bleakness of dark winter days and the occasional glittering surprise of sunshine piercing the gloom. Then a song came to mind, Winter, Fire and Snow with words by the Irish poet Macdara Woods and sung by the group Anúna. And so I created this collage. Winter Carol
