I haven’t painted as much as usual over the past twelve weeks because I’ve been involved in a series of entrepreneurship class for women artist. Seventeen women artist in my community were selected to participate in the Entrepreneurship for Visual Artists (EVA) program, hosted by Bennett College. We learned about ourselves, our strengths and drams and our goals. There were business classes where we learned to think big and put together a business plan, charting our course for this and coming years. Marketing experts showed us strategies we can use so that we can better share our art. One weekend we even took a bus trip to Washington DC and had a great time visiting art museums. Best of all, I got to know a roomful of wonderful and talented women whom I can travel with in this journey of creating art and growing an art business. For all involved, I am truly thankful! At the EVA Exhibit Our classes came to an official close on November 15 with the opening of EVA’s Exhibition: A Celebration of 17 Unique Female Artists at Wilbur Steele Hall on the Bennett College campus. Five landscape paintings from my Panama Series are included in the exhibit. It was a lovely opening and I had a splendid time seeing everyone’s work and talking to visitors. The show runs until December 2.
